Introduction

Gaudiya Kutir is an organization established in 2005 to further the interests of the classical alignments of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. Our specific goals are outlined in the goals section.

A Florida U.S. registered non-profit, the Kutir manages over a dozen projects of its own and supports several independent undertakings, tended to by its core staff and a number of other volunteers.

Gaudiya Kutir is constantly looking for new avenues to further the growth of the Gaudiya Vaishnava heritage on Western soil, catering to the needs of the globally spread-out community of devotees and contemplating new methods of outreach.

The history of the endeavor dates back to 2002 and a discussion board initially hosted at the Raganuga.Com website. Raganuga.Com was the first extensive attempt to make available materials related to traditional Gaudiya Vaishnavism and its mode of worship known as raganuga-bhakti. In those discussions, later continued at Gaudiya Discussions, the curiosity of many a participant arose, and lasting friendships were forged.

The subsequent discovery of shared interests and inclinations led to thoughts of pooling resources in furthering the cause of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. This led to the formation of Gaudiya Kutir in the June of 2005 after almost a year of discussions behind the scenes over the exact form and functions of the upcoming organization.

It was to take for almost a year more until the Kutir lifted the curtains and came out into the spotlights, with a fair share of small bumps to hit and obstacles to overcome in its initial moments. Here we are, ready to go – explore our resources or hop onboard!
